Salzburg Research (Coordinator)

Salzburg Research is the non-profit research organisation of the Federal State of Salzburg and carries out applied research in the areas of information and communication technologies.

The company has expertise in knowledge and content technologies (e.g. Semantic Web, knowledge-enhanced content, tools for knowledge workers), middleware architectures, object-oriented programming, component based software development and Internet technologies. Socio-economic innovation and impact studies in areas such as e-learning and digital culture/heritage complement its research and technological development activities.

Application areas include advanced content and knowledge management, e-culture, e-tourism and technology enhanced learning. Salzburg Research co-ordinates two industrial competence centres (dealing with digital media and e-tourism) and offers consulting services to local, national and European organisations. Clients are mainly public bodies such as governments, public administration, libraries and other educational and social institutions.
